Domestic Blackjack Apps Debut in NJ and PA to Great Success with More States on the Way

As the country continues to deal with spiked levels of Coronavirus cases, online casinos and betting applications remain a safe alternative to visiting a brick-and-mortar facility.

Unfortunately, there are only a few regions that allow for the domestic, state-regulated casinos to provide blackjack for real money via an online option. However, there is a much larger number of states that allow legal online blackjack from offshore online casinos.

New Jersey is a state that has embraced legal online blackjack, and recently, DraftKings released a downloadable casino app in the state.  New Jersey has experienced an uptick in online casino business to the tune of 124% when compared to May of 2019, according to Barron’s. FanDuel has also released a casino app in Pennsylvania that will provide regional gamblers with the opportunity to play 21 for real money.

Both FanDuel and DraftKings have had gambling apps that offer casino games, including blackjack, in NJ and PA for some time, but they were included as a special feature on their sports betting applications. Now they are offering dedicated casino apps that feature more robust casino offerings across the board, and gamblers are flocking to smartphones to take part in record numbers.

DraftKings is reporting New Jersey revenues of nearly $4 million in May, with FanDuel receiving double that amount with their efforts in Pennsylvania over that same period of time. Both companies are eager to expand their efforts into Michigan and West Virginia, as both states legalized online casino operations in 2019 but have yet to open the door for legal betting apps.

Another US state that currently allows for online blackjack is Delaware. The state’s Delaware Park Casino offers real money games of blackjack via their website and it has been a popular outlet for regional bettors thus far.  FanDuel and DraftKings have yet to establish casino app operations within Delaware but it will likely be only a matter of time before that happens considering the gains they have experienced in other states.

Of course, the elephant in the room regarding online blackjack is offshore casino sites that offer 21 for real money. These casino apps are available to use in all US States because federal and state gambling laws fail to detail offshore gambling.

Connecticut and Washington have stepped up and prohibited all forms of online gambling, but several of the online casinos that we recommend accept members from those states and allow them to play real money games of 21. Gamblers who choose to wager online in CT and WA are certainly taking a risk, but at the same time, there has yet to be any arrests made in those two states for the crime of online gaming. That’s likely because gambling laws are written in such a way that specifically target illegal gambling providers and not the participating gamblers.

In all 48 states outside of the two previously mentioned, there are no regulations on the books the suggest that gamblers should refrain from offshore casino play. These offshore sites provide premium games of BJ and also allow for live dealer blackjack that can duplicate the experience of bellying up to the felt but in the privacy of your own home.

Domestic casino apps that allow for real money blackjack may be coming to your area soon, but until then, offshore casinos can handle your mobile 21 needs and then some.
